5 stresses students has to go through

5 stresses student has tp go through.
Nowadays as competition increases, student mental health is getting more and more affected.

Let’s see what students have to go through

  1. Academic Pressure: Pressure to complete the syllabus on time, and fear of getting low marks result in students developing stress and anxiety, sometimes they feel out of place because  their peers perform well which also leads to further pressure.
According to a survey by the American College Health Association, about 60% of college students reported experiencing overwhelming anxiety in the past year.

  2. Student Debt: A study published in the “Journal of American College Health” found that financial stress is a significant predictor of mental health issues among college students as the college fees are so high.
Many students also have financial responsibility for their families which leads them getting 1 or even 2 part-time jobs which further contributes to stress.

  3. High Expectations: High expectations from parents or yourself lead to a lot of stress and can lead to one developing mental health disorders like depression or anxiety, also the uncertainty of the future is also a very contributing factor.

  4. Social Media Use: Seeing someone living their dream life and enjoying vacation where the student working hard to manage responsibilities results in them feeling low and sad. (even though the so-called reels are not always the reality)

Because of these students become prone to mental health disorders.

Depression or Generalised Anxiety Disorder are the most common ones let’s look at their impacts:

  1. They significantly reduce students’ productivity which results in them getting low grades in class which only further fuels the disorder.
  2. They result in the social withdrawal of students as depression often leads to negative thought patterns, self-criticism, and feelings of worthlessness.
  3. Students may resort to unhealthy coping mechanisms, such as substance abuse or self-harm, to alleviate emotional pain, because of which their physical health suffers.

So yeah things tend to get hard for students especially if they are suffering from mental health disorders.
